Africa Human Rights Network (AHRN), with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in collaboration with the Office of the District Commissioner of Kinondoni and the Mbezi Beach Local Government, organized a Community Beach Cleanup at Mbali Beach, Mbezi on 3rd May 2025.
The event aimed to promote environmental conservation, raise awareness on marine pollution, and encourage collective responsibility in protecting coastal ecosystems.

The Guest of Honor was Hon. Hamad Yussuf Masauni, Minister of State, Union and Environment, whose participation emphasized the government’s strong commitment to sustainable environmental management.

We were also honored by the presence of Hon. Patrick Nyamvumba, Ambassador of Rwanda to Tanzania, and Hon. Saad Mtambule, District Commissioner of Kinondoni, who both highlighted the value of regional and local partnerships in environmental protection.

The cleanup brought together a wide range of participants including university students, local community members, government leaders, and representatives from civil society organizations and the diplomatic community all united in their dedication to creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable coastline for future generations.
