The AHRN is therefore managed as a charitable organization / public benefit organization. AHRN has been granted of a ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling), a charitable status, in 2016 by the Dutch Tax Agency. This means that we meet the requirements that the tax authorities set for charities. With this status, any donation made to AHRN is deductible from the donor’s taxable income. In addition, we do not have to pay taxes on received funds.
We receive income from a wide variety of sources including individuals, national and international foundations, organisations, Governments, EU, UN agencies etc.
We are committed to managing our funds in a fully accountable way.
As stated in our status, the funds received by the AHRN are used for the intended purpose and activities. The financial records are daily kept by the organization’s financial manager and show the nature and extent of the allocated expenses using quick book system.
ontrol is exercised by its board of directors of least 3 members. Each year, within five months after the end the financial year, the board discusses and adopts the balance sheet and the statement of income and expenses (annual accounts). Reports are assessed and audited by an external independent financial and accountancy auditor. Please find below our annual financial statements:
